On June 14, 2012, Hire Image CEO Christine Cunneen will be the featured speaker at the HRM-RI breakfast/networking event at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick from 8-9:30 am.
The title of Cunneen’s presentation is “Employment Screening Legislative & Regulatory Update – 2011, 2012 and Beyond.” She will discuss the many federal and state legislative changes that will have a direct impact on human resource professionals during the hiring process. Key points that will be addressed are compliance with the new laws, review of 2011, pending legislation and regulatory activity for 2012 and beyond, industry trends, and a ‘best practices’ checklist.
In addition to operating her nationwide background screening and drug testing company, Cunneen is often called to provide her expertise before governmental agencies, including the FTC, EEOC, IRS and state governments on laws and regulations affecting the HR industry. She is a member of the legislative committee of the Rhode Island State Council of Society of Human Resource Management, and recently testified before the House Committee on Labor opposing a bill that would require more burdens on employers who utilize criminal records in the hiring process.
