What is the turnaround time for requested reports?
Most reports are returned within 24-72 hours of receipt, but can be more or less depending on several factors. You have the ability to view your results 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
What is needed to perform a background search?
To ensure the accuracy of results, we need the applicant’s name, date of birth and social security number.
Do I need to provide a date of birth to order a background search?
Asking for a full date of birth on an application is a sensitive issue. The date of birth is necessary to perform a thorough, accurate and timely background search. The date of birth is a universal identifier on court records and allows the researcher to quickly narrow the search. Criminal records are performed by last name, first name, middle name or initial and date of birth. Providing Hire Image researchers with the full information helps us serve you better with the best possible search.
How far back can I search an applicant’s history?
7 years is the general reference throughout the industry, unless otherwise stated on the signed release by the applicant. Changes to the Fair Credit Reporting Act allow unlimited reporting of criminal convictions.
Is there a nationwide criminal search that covers all states and counties?
No. There are compiled databases that provide certain criminal records for certain states (see services). The most accurate criminal searches are at the county level.
How do I find if the applicant has lived in more than one county or state?
Hire Image provides a search that first verifies the accuracy of the applicant’s given information such as name, address, date of birth and social security number. This search will return the applicant’s former addresses.
What if the applicant disputes the results of the background search?
Hire Image is obligated to re-verify the information and provide an updated report. Additional information provided by the applicant may be helpful to ensure correct results are returned.
