Anthony Williams was found guilty of kidnapping and attempted sexual battery in Gainesville, Florida. The day before his arrest, he grabbed a hotel clerk by the throat and tried to rape her. A Marine staying at the hotel heard her scream and chased Williams away and the victim was unharmed. After seeing that Williams was designated as a prison release re-offender with over a 20-year criminal history, including drugs, theft, and battery, the judge sentenced him to life in prison for kidnapping and five years for attempted sexual battery. With the recent SHRM re-entry efforts, we need to balance the discussion on stats from both sides and aide employers in knowing who will and won’t re-offend?
