The mayor of St. Louis signed a law this week eliminating local penalties for activities that involve marijuana possession for personal use. Under the new law, up to 35 grams of cannabis may be possessed by adults without subjecting them to civil penalties. Additionally, the police may no longer cite cannabis odor as the basis for a warrantless search.
