Currently, Hawaii employers are prohibited from inquiring about an applicant’s Criminal History prior to a conditional offer of employment.

Currently, Hawaii employers are prohibited from asking applicants about their prior Compensation History. The law covers a broad range of employers, including employment agencies and agents. As long as they have at least one employee in the state, they are subject to the law.
