Currently, Ohio allows the use of Medical Marijuana for medical purposes by qualifying patients. The law does not place any limits on employers. Employers have the right to establish and enforce drug-free work policies and may refuse to hire or terminate based on medical marijuana use.

Currently, Ohio has no statewide Salary History Ban for private employers. However, the cities of Cincinnati and Toledo have their own bans. Cincinnati employers with fifteen or more employees are prohibited from asking about or relying on a prospective employee’s prior salary history in setting compensation. Employers with fifteen or more employees in the city of Toledo, Ohio are also prohibited from inquiring about or using an applicant’s salary history.
